EU’s Entry/Exit System (EES) Implementation Delayed

The European Union’s new Entry/Exit System (EES), initially set to launch in November 2024, has been postponed to October 2025 due to technical challenges and concerns about border congestion. The EES will automate the tracking of border crossings for non-EU visitors, requiring passport and biometric data registration. The UK has allocated funds to prepare infrastructure at the Port of Dover, Eurostar, and LeShuttle terminals to handle potential congestion resulting from the EES implementation.
